Cataglyphis bicolor

Observations:

  • Great Sand Sea (30 kms south of Siwa), March 2005
  • Wadi Handal (Jebel Uweinat), October 2005

    These large red and silver ants are a little smaller than the closely related black Cataglyphis fortis, and were noted only in the vicinity of their nests near vegetation at two locations, in the Great Sand Sea and Wadi Handal.
