#10

SCOTT, Robert F,
Angolok a Déli sarkvidéken

(Englishmen at the South Polar Regions)

First Edition 1911
Second Edition 191?

An abridged translation of Scott's 1905 The Voyage of the Discovery prepared by Gyula Halász. The Classic I and Picture Cover Roman Numeral versions carry the number XII on the half-title, preceding #11 Hedin yet the publishing date is given a year later as 1911, and Lóczi's foreword also dates a few months later. As Lóczi explicitely says in the foreword of #11 Hedin that it was the last title under his editorship, we will conform to that publishing order despite the contrary dictated by the publishing dates. The second edition is also dated to 1911, lacking the roman series volume numbers. While the pagination of the two are identical, there are subtle differences in the text layout proving that they were indeed separate editions, rather than just a change in the title pages. The second edition originally appeared in the full cloth Picture cover and Classic I scaled pattern versions. Apparently the second edition was re-issued after the War in both half-cloth Picture cover and plain Classic I. bindings.
