#52

HEDIN, Sven
A selyem útja

(The Silk Road)
First Edition 1938
Second Edition 1938

The fifth title of Hedin to appear in the series, being the second of a three book series describing his travels and experiences to North-western China in 1933-34. This book describes the mapping of the eastern part of the anciend Silk Road, translated from the swedish original by Dénes Mezey. Apparently like #58, it appeared near-simultaneously in both single and two vulume versions, both existing in the Classic IV. full cloth binding. The single volume edition is also known in the rare white full cloth (with only titles and globe on the cover) version, while the two volume set also exists in a Classic IV. half cloth version, possible a later re-issue. The dust jacket is known, however at present it is impossible to ascertain the version it belonged to.
