Agostini, an Italian missionary spent a decade exploring the remote interior of Tierra del Fuego, the book is a summary of his travels and explorations from 1910 to 1923, translated by Béla Cholnoky (son of the Editor). This title holds the absolute record for the number of variants over a relatively short period of time. This was the last title to appear in the early format, with 101 illustrations among the text and three maps, printed on a fine coated paper, appearing aparently simultaneously in the Classic I, Classic II. and Oval logo covers. The second edition appeared with the Cassic II, Oval logo and Classic III. (both thick and thin gilt decoration variants) covers on coarser paper, with 209 pages of text and illustrations on separate plates, and was much thicker despite the fewer pages, with 100 illustrations and three maps. 1-2 years later (like #20 Almásy) three more almost identical editions were released in the Classic III cover, only differing from the second in all three having no map, the fourth having one less illustration. and the fifth with two less illustrations. The last four editions almost certainly had a dust jacket, but no surviving examples are known. All versions have Lampel as publisher, so none can be later than early 1931.
