HALÁSZ, Gyula
Scott utolsó útja

(Scott's Last Journey)

First Edition 1923
Second Edition 192?

The diary of Captain Scott and his companions of the ill fated 1911-1913 Terra Nova expedition, re-worked from the English original by Gyula Halász. This was the last title to appear in the Picture cover version. The first edition is also known in the Classic I. Scaled and plain Classic I. binding versions, proving that the Classic I. Scaled version was in use till at least 1923. A second edition was prepared sometime in the late nineteen twenties, known in Oval logo and Classic II. variants. There is a substantial difference between the first and second editions. In the first, 41 illustrations are dispersed within the text (plus one map), while the second edition has 40 photo illustrations on separate photo pages, resulting in very different pagination. The first edition also lacks the frontspiece portrait of Captain Scott (the same photo does appear, but after the title page).
