Cholnoky, Jenő
A sárkányok országából

(From the Land of the Dragons)

First MFTK Edition 1913
Second MFTK Edition 1934

The first title in the series to be published with Cholnoky as editor was a re-issue of his own book, originally published in 1901 on his travels in China (with an independent publisher in Veszprém, Cholnoky's home town, not as part of the series). The picture imprinted on the Picture cover version was substantially the same as that of the original 1901 edition. This is the first title that did not appear in the Roman Numeral cover version. The three single volume versions all have the same interior, thus all may be considered first editions, though the Classic I. (plain) cover version clearly dates from the mid-twenties. In 1934 the title was released again as a two volume second edition, in the then customary Classic III & Classic IV covers. These latter are common, but the single volume first editions, especially the Classic I scaled variant are very rare. The first edition had illustrations dispersed within the text, while the second edition had separate plates, no illustrations among the text.
