Cornulaca monacantha
The species is the predominant vegetation in the northernmost part of the Great Sand Sea south of Siwa/Jaghbub for about 25-30 kilometres, after which it gives way to Calligonum commosum. Unlike the latter, it is also common in the northern oases depressions.
